PASMA Relaunched Training to Create Access Tower Specialists

PASMA are relaunching what is now known as their ‘complex aluminium access towers’ training scheme later this year, and with the relaunch will be a new name for those who successfully complete the complex training. These individuals will be known as Access Tower Specialists and will be equipped with the skills to build all varieties of towers, no matter how tall, wide, or complicated.

The training course provides the highest level of qualification for access towers and is only aimed at those who already have significant years of experience with working with towers; anyone wanting to partake will already need to have been trained on all standard configuration towers. Once they have completed and passed the course, these individuals will be qualified to work with ‘prefabricated aluminium components in surprisingly complex configurations that can go to much greater heights than standard towers.’

Access Tower Specialists build structures that allow other workers to carry out their jobs safely at height, including those working in construction, aerospace and the built environment. The service they provide is known as ‘hire & assembly’ and they will work in equipment hire, and assembly and dismantling, as well as being involved with the planning of projects and consultations.

Bespoke towers are the speciality of Access Tower Specialists; these are not your average towers, and instead they will go taller/wider than usual, span around/over obstacles and provide access to multiple stairwells/levels.

PASMA’s relaunched course will be delivered at the Test & Research Centre based in Cambridgeshire by PASMA themselves. This dedicated Cambridgeshire facility has been specially adapted for working at height training and testing.

Of course, for anyone interested in a career as an Access Tower Specialist, the place to start is by obtaining their first PASMA qualification and gaining experience in the industry. Here at NCIS we offer a 1-day training course in PASMA from our UK venues with the aims of:

• Ensuring that all workers take responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others • Ensuring operatives are trained to a high level of competence when carrying out inspections • Ensuring operatives are competent in creating safe systems of work and understand their responsibilities

Our Teesside Venue is great for the local area, situated just off the A19 Stockton on Tees. So, if you’re interested in completing a PASMA course with us then get in touch today to discuss the next available dates!
